INTRODUCTION

This contribution replaces the standard osCommerce images (i.e. those that appear in the top right hand coner of the index page, and the reviews box, to name just two) with a single, transparent pixel (the pixel_trans.gif file that is already in the catalog/images folder).

As far as the user is concerned, the images disappear, without having to make major code changes (although one pixel remains from a coding point of view).

The files are in the following format...

Replacement images (transparent pixels) - [filename].gif

Original osCommerce images - [filename]1.gif

So you won't lose the original images, should you wish to revert to them at any time.

INSTALLATION

Upload the full contents of the catalog/images/ folder to your osCommerce installation, replacing the original files where prompted.

EXCEPTION

This contribution will not replace the images that are dynamically pulled from the product database - e.g. the manufacturers image, as selected in admin.

If you want these images to disappear, I suggest you download pixel_trans.gif to your local drive, and upload that as the manufacturers image.  This will stop you getting a little red X if there is no image loaded.
